Brigitte Subkov Pianist
Immerse yourself in the world of music with our outstanding pianist!
The young pianist Brigitte Subkov was born in 1990 in St. Petersburg, Russia, into a family of economists. After moving to Germany in 1995, Brigitte was introduced to the world of music at the age of eight.
One year later, she took her first piano lessons with Nina Morozowa and later with Prof. Leonid Kontorowski.
From this point forward, she made rapid progress, and her talent was praised at concerts and various competitions, where she was awarded numerous prizes for outstanding performances. In 2003, she was announced the winner of the “National Competition for Young Musicians” in Germany.
In front of a sold-out hall, Brigitte held a sensational debut with Beethoven’s first piano concerto at the age of 16 in Stuttgart, where she played with “real virtuosic brilliance and creativity”, says the media. This was the beginning of her pianistic career.
Soon after this success, she was recognized by the North London Piano School.
Her young talent led her to this vibrant city, where she accomplished the bilingual International Baccalaureate.
Brigitte’s musical and personal development gathered momentum when she was accepted to study at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London. Under the guidance of Prof. Andrew Zolinsky and Prof. Nigel Clayton, she performed for prominent pianists such as Stephen Hough, Alfred Brendel, and Sofia Gulyak.
On a full scholarship, in 2013, Brigitte was invited to study with the Swiss Prof. Adrian Oetiker in Basel, where she performed in masterclasses with Homero Francesch, Pavaali Jumpanen, Ulrich Koella, and gave full-house solo recitals, as well as academic masterclasses to young piano students. Her repertoire ranges from early L. V. Beethoven, through R. Schumann and F. Chopin to S. Prokofieff.
Returning to the Royal College of Music in 2015 for a Master in Performance Studies, she is now internationally active as a soloist and chamber musician while holding an inner passion and commitment to contemporary music.
In the press, Brigitte is known as a sound artist with electric energy and emotional depth, “rarely to be found elsewhere”.
